While technically not required, we highly encourage host organizations to provide accommodations for the Experteer for the duration of the on-site engagement- doing so will help you get matched faster to higher quality Experteers. This helps decrease the out-of-pocket cost for the Experteer who will be supporting your organization, and is an important tangible indication that you are committed to the partnership, that you value the Experteer's time and skills, and that you are willing to invest in the project.
Additionally, in the past we’ve seen that offering benefits such as accommodations make your project listing much more competitive, significantly decreasing the time to fill. Another thing to keep in mind is that accommodations/housing can be either formal or informal:
- Formal housing would include arrangements such as a renting a room at a hotel or hostel
- Informal accommodations would include arrangements such as a spare room in a staff-members home or in the office.
The type of accommodation ultimately depends on the resources that your organization has available, but even in cases where formal housing is not possible, we suggest looking into informal housing as an alternative.
